Stockwell Day says he's sorry. Well, the word "sorry" does appear in the text, so the Toronto Star calls it an "apology."There's nobody can watch this without just feeling the emotions that this man's mother felt, that all of us as Canadians felt. This was a tragic incident that took place. We never want to see it happen again. I'm sorry it took place. I think all Canadians are sorry it took place and we want to make sure it never happens again. That's why there are a number of inquests at a variety of levels.
This is, in fact, a near-classic non-apology apology. The man should have just kept quiet, rather than making things worse with his vapid temporizing. What a sorry individual.
